Fenrake Reavers
The Fenwake Reavers are marsh-born raiders from the Saltward Fens, expert at fighting from mud, reed, and shallow water. They use burned hulks, chained barges, and false distress signals to force ships into narrow channels, then strike fast with hooked poles, short bows, and boarding knives. They avoid prolonged fights, preferring seizure of cargo, hostages, and documents before melting back into the fens. Locals know them as scavengers of chaos rather than loyalists to any banner.
The band is split into two companies. Maurel Fen-Born commands the riverboats and ambush crews, a taciturn veteran who knows every tidal cut and mudflat. Ysandre Coil controls scouts and shore fighters, ruthless and ambitious, pushing the Reavers toward bolder strikes. Their rivalry keeps the group dangerous but unstable.
