Level 0 Characters:
- Choose your race but do not gain racial stat bonuses (if any)
- Choose an origin (see Origins in Character Creation)
- Set your starting Ability Scores to 13, 12, 11, 10, 8, 6
- Select your background but do not gain gold or other wealth
- Set your maximum hit points to 10 + your Con modifier
- Set your maximum wounds to 3 + your Con modifier (minimum 3)
- Set your Hit Dice to 2
- Proficiencies
- Armor = none
- Weapon = Proficiency with crossbows, daggers, slings, and quarterstaffs
- Saving Throws = none
- Skills = according to background
- Set your Proficiency Bonus to +0
- Select mundane items appropriate for your profession (no weapons or armor)
At level 0.5:
- Increase all stats by 1 (to 14, 13, 12, 11, 9, 7)
- Increase your maximum hit points by 10 (to 20 hit points maximum)
- Increase your Hit Dice by 2 (to 4 total)
- Increase your Proficiency Bonus to +1
At level 0.75:
- Gain a 1st-level feat
- Increase your Proficiency Bonus to +2
At level 1:
- Increase all stats by 1 (to 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8)
- Apply racial stat bonuses (if any)
- Choose your class
- Increase hit points by max hit points from class (but do not add CON bonus again)
- Increase your Hit Dice by 1 (to 5 total).
- Gain the Armor, Weapon, Skill, Tool, and Saving Throw proficiencies your class bestows
- Gain all the class features associated with your new character class
- If your race grants you a feat, you gain that feat, but you do NOT gain an additional 1st-level bonus feat as other 1st level characters (having gained that feat at level 0.75).
