Morithal

Titles: Reaver, Soulblighter, Voidlord, Weaver of Shadows, Worldender
Domains: Corruption, Defiance, Persistence, Undead

Morithal is a pollution of the Great Dance. Where the Dancers embody the cycle of life, death, and rebirth, Morithal seeks continuance without end. He rejects life and denies death. Morithal’s domains are undead, corruption, defiance, and persistence.

Morithal is unlike the Dancers. While they are as old as the world and as thoughtless as weather, Morithal was once a man. A mortal who cloaked himself in divinity to deny the natural way of things.

In the World

Morithal is served by eight immortal voidreavers who do his will in the world of mortals.

All the people of the world, regardless of faith or belief, hold Morithal to be evil beyond imagining, a destroyer, and taker of what is good and right. When calamity strikes, it is Morithal’s doing, when children misbehave, the monster Morithal will come for them. No matter the ail, Morithal is the cause. Where he is known, he is universally hated, despised, and rejected. Except by those who worship him.

The Covenant believes Morithal will usher in a new age of dominance where they, the strong, shall rule over all people. They lust for this power and will do anything to seize it.

The Binding

It holds that in an earlier age, Morithal was able to walk upon the surface of Veylantia. This was an age of unimaginable darkness when all things had gone to waste and ruin. It ended only after mortals were gifted the Radiant and the Twin Flames. With these powerful artifacts, they were able to defeat Morithal and lock him away to a place where he could not touch the world.

This binding held for untold generations, until a mortal called Nulk reached into the prison and—in ignorance—crushed one of the points of the Radiant setting in motion Morithal’s ultimate freedom.
