Tideborn

image Tideborn are an amphibious people who live along the reefs and shallows of Marinor’s Edge. They worship the Twin Gods not as two distinct beings, but as a single, indivisible entity they call Tharyth, the Confluence. In an age long past, the Tideborn withdrew from the world after the landfolk betrayed Tharyth, shattering and entrapping the god. This began the period they call the Long Silence, when the voice of Tharyth could not be heard. They now await the Returning Tide, when the landborn shall at last right their wrong and restore Tharyth’s voice.

With humanoid bodies and scaled skin in shades of gray, blue, or green, Tideborn have adapted for life both above and below the waves. In place of hair, many have finned crests or ridges and their eyes tend to be large with colors that reflect their marine homeland. Their feet are webbed, and often their hands as well. Swirling or curled patterns on their scaled bodies are common, as is jewelry.
