The city of Wyrkspire (vrick-spire) is unique. Designed to fulfill its role as a home for the Harrowguard, the city features a highly specialized infrastructure tailored to its dual purpose of rearing and training the future Harrowguard. The city sits high in the Echoing Crest Mountains, spreading out across a broad plateau in the shadow of the ominous Veil Sanctorum. As home to both the Harrowguard and Shadowbinders, Wyrkspire is a shunned place, avoided by all.
At the cities core are the nurseries and infant care facilities, equipped to provide care and monitoring of the infants brought under the Due. As these children grow, they transition into educational institutions located within Wyrkspire, designed not just as schools, but as comprehensive training grounds. These institutions blend traditional education with rigorous military training, tailored to cultivate loyalty, discipline, and martial prowess from a young age.
With more than half the cities populace members of the Harrowguard, Wyrkspire is a place of law and order where crime is rare and corruption almost nonexistent. What trade comes in and out of the city focuses almost exclusively on the needs of the military. This is a city with a purpose, to produce the finest, and most loyal, soldiers in Strykara and it excels at that purpose.
For the common person, life in Wyrkspire is disciplined and secure, yet isolated, under the omnipresent gaze of the city’s guardians and the enigmatic Shadowbinders above.
